An innovative course for licensed practical nurse–associate degree nursing articulation

Abstract

This article describes the adaptation of a licensed practical nurse—associate degree in nursing articulation course to a distance format, specifically hybrid. Methods for evaluation of the course are described. For the most part, students were successful in the course and program progression, exhibited improvements in self-efficacy, and expressed satisfaction with the teaching methods. Expanding opportunities for licensed practical nurses to return to school and experience career advancement may help reduce the nurse shortage.
